Surfline Forecast: Favorable Swell Direction, Period For Main Break And The Box

Margaret River Pro event window will start with small but clean surf fading throughout Sunday. Southwest swell is groomed by offshore wind through the morning hours.

Monday will see an increase in surf amid west southwest swell kicking in from a small but strong storm that has moved toward Western Australia over the past couple of days. The swell direction and period would be favorable for both main break and the box, and there should be a window of offshore wind in the morning before onshore kick in by the afternoon building and solid surf is expected from later Tuesday through Thursday, although stormy onshore poor quality surf is also likely.

Going further out, we may see things clean up by later next week. The first few days of May look fairly promising at this point, with the potential for a medium-sized run, a southwest swell, and mostly favorable wind. As always, stay tuned to surfline.com for the latest forecast details of the Margaret River Pro.
