Women Lock In Quarterfinalists, Men's World Title Threats Survive Elimination - Post Show Day 2

Just a stone's throw from the famed Supertubos, first eliminations were dealt at Praia do Molhe Leste on Day 2 as the Mid-season Cut pressure mounts in Portugal. The women surged through multiple rounds, locking in their Quarterfinal matchups as the dust settled, while the men's first eliminations were dished out in the process. 2023 standout Bettylou Sakura Johnson, reigning World Champ Caroline Marks and 2x World Champion Tyler Wright stood apart in the women's marathon of a day. Molly Picklum officially secured her spot above the mid-season cut line, but the World No. 1 was dismantled shortly after by Kauai's own Gabriela Bryan. On the men's side, we saw 3x World Champion Gabriel Medina and World Title threat Griffin Colapinto tap into form to avoid early elimination scares and progress on to the Round of 32.
