The Murasaki Shonan Open Round of 96 kicked off this morning in clean, one-to-two-foot conditions at Kugenuma Beach.
But after finishing Round 2, Heat 6, event organizers were forced to put the event on standby. Conditions had deteriorated throughout the day, and competition was postponed; six more days of the waiting period remain, with action ready to restart as soon as the swell picks up.
