This weekend, the Air Tahiti Nui Billabong Pro Trials is pitting intrepid surfers against each other for a coveted Wildcard spot in the 2014 Billabong Pro Tahiti.

Jack Robinson (AUS), 16, is one of the hopefuls competing for a chance to surf against the Top 34. Get a glimpse at his introduction to one of the heaviest waves in the world -- complete with wipeouts and glory. The Trials run August 9 - 12, whittling down an ambitious field that has in the past included Wildcards Bruce Irons (HAW), Alain Riou (PYF), and Anthony Walsh (AUS), among others.

The 2014 Billabong Pro Tahiti kicks off Friday, August 15, and will stream live daily on this site.
