In a highly anticipated specialty event, Stephanie Gilmore (AUS), Tyler Wright (AUS), Carissa Moore (HAW) and Bethany Hamilton (HAW) will hit the North Shore for a unique heat at Banzai Pipeline. The Women's Pipe Invitational is slated to run during the Billabong Pipe Masters, which has a waiting period of December 8-20, 2014. The Invitational will be a quick island-hop for the World Championship Tour (WCT) surfers -- Gilmore, Wright and Moore -- who just completed the Target Maui Pro.

The Top 17 have spent the 2014 season proving that women's surfing has reached new heights. After intense events in Fiji, Trestles and Honolua Bay, the WCT competitors have shown prowess in both heavy and high-performance waves. Now the top three surfers on the end-of-season WCT rankings, along with Hamilton, will test their mettle at the infamous break off the North Shore.

Women's Pipe Invitational
The 2014 Billabong Pipe Masters will feature a women's exhibition at the famous, body-crushing break.

"After this season, the girls have shown they can really surf anywhere," said ASP women's commissioner, Jessi Miley-Dyer. "The girls have earned their spots in any lineup and it will be great to see what they do at Pipe."

This will only be the second time an elite-level women's invitational will be held at Pipe. The first was in 2010 when Stephanie Gilmore (AUS) -- who won her sixth World Title on Maui -- Tyler Wright (AUS), Coco Ho (HAW) and Alana Blanchard (HAW) battled in the Vans Duel for the Jewel.

The specialty event will be broadcast LIVE on the ASP homepage.
