In this episode we welcome back all the eliminated contestants who now have a chance to compete as Wildcards entries to rejoin the show. That means giving it their all in a special Wildcard Wave Challenge.
The eight wildcards have been arranged in teams of one man and one woman for a total of four teams. Each surfer will try to put in the best possible complete ride they are capable of. After the scores are averaged of each team surfer, the highest-scored and second-highest scored teams will get a chance to compete in a Surf Off for a chance to return to competition.
For the advancing surfers this is the only time you want to end up in a Surf Off because one man and one woman will then win the right to return as full-fledged contestants, with a second chance at making their dream of becoming The Ultimate Surfer come true. With so much on the line, the Wildcards aren't going to leave anything in the tank.
