Frederico Morais, who's known as Kikas to fans at home in Portugal, visits Dawn Patrol on day 2 of the Billabong Pipe Masters. In his chat with the WSL desk crew, he opens up about his mindset heading into the Vans Triple Crown, which he's currently leading; facing 2016 World Champ John Florence in competition; and how he got his nickname, among other things.

Morais will be joining the Samsung Galaxy Championship Tour in 2017, but you can watch him surf at the Billabong Pipe Masters live daily through Dec. 20.
