Due to last week's macking south swell that halted any chances of running the JBU Supertrial Presented By RVCA, the contest organizers have opted to extend the waiting period for the event. The waiting period was due to end on June 12, but will now run through next week, June 15-22.
The winner of the JBU Supertrial Presented by RVCA will receive a wildcard spot in the J-Bay Open, Stop No. 6 on the Samsung Galaxy Championship Tour.
"We are currently monitoring a fresh groundswell that is set to make landfall this Sunday, June 14, and stick around for a few days," said JBU's Koffie Jacobs. "It was unfortunate that we couldn't run last week, but this new swell looks like it might just be the perfect Supertubes conditions we are hoping for."
The JBU Supertrial presented by RVCA is sanctioned by Surfing South Africa. Surfing South Africa is a member of the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC), and recognized by the Dept. of Sport and Recreation as the national controlling body for surfing.
The JBU Supertrial presented by RVCA precedes the World Surf League's J-Bay Open, which has an event window from July 8 - July 19, 2015. The winner of the Supertrial will receive one of two wildcard spots into the Championship Tour event.
