I woke up at...6:15 a.m., my alarm goes off. 6:15 is normal, I consider it mildly sleeping in. I have coffee with my Mom every morning for the most part. She's an amazing woman and I miss her all the time when I'm on the road.

The first thing I did was...surf. Pre event, I always get at least one long surf in everyday up to the day before my heat. The summer up north [in Santa Barbara] has been pretty small and windy. Anything counts at this point. Rain or shine, one foot or five. It all leads up to Round 1 prep.

For lunch...I've been getting fresh organic farmed veggies from Ojai lately. Once a week I buy a box, filled with every nutrient my body needs to be healthy and strong.

Today I had to...paint my surfboard. Doing art on my board calms my mind. Anything creative rather. I'm not the type that focuses 100% on surfing all day, every day. Ridicule me for that statement, but it's true. I tend to do better if I can turn my mind off for a bit and just hear my own thoughts, fight my own battles and visualize how I want my future to unfold.

In the afternoon...I did a couple interviews! Fox Sports was the one I enjoyed the most. Heading into the Supergirl Pro [beginning July 24], which I won last year, I'll have a few extra eyes on me. It's a little more pressure, but a lot more excitement!

Before I went to bed...Never too late to study. I've had an urge to hone my English lately. The more knowledgeable you can be the better. Learning is endless and I want to be the best me that I can be. I hope my 7th grade English teacher doesn't read this!
