In a final that was reminiscent of Culburra's last minute win in 2018, North Shore Boardriders left their finals campaign to the last seconds of the Teams final, with power surfer Alister Reginato getting across the line within the last five seconds after locking in a mammoth 8.15 wave score that propelled them from third to first position and take the win ahead of North Shelly, North Narrabeen and Bondi Boardriders who took second, third and fourth respectively. Reginato executed a chain of impressive backside snaps to post the score and cement the victory for the team.
2020 is the second time in as many years that North Shore Boardriders have made the final after claiming third position last year.

"This is so far and beyond ahead of what I imagined victory would be like. This is the best win you can get," said Reginato. "I definitely didn't think I was going to get over the line at the final stages of that heat let alone get the score I needed to get the team into the lead. I knew I had to give it everything I had and thankfully it paid off. I think a few people thought it was a fluke when we got third last year, so the entire the team really wanted to prove it wasn't. We wanted to show we mean business and I think we did that hear this year."
Event runner-up North Shelly Boardriders put on a valiant effort over the course the final and momentarily held on to the victory, until Reginato posted the aforementioned score. 2020 is the second runner-up finish for the Central Coast Club in as many years.
Sandon Whittaker (Avoca) claimed the AirAsia Airshow takes to a critical air-reverse that saw him earn $1000.00 for his local club.
