The two-time World Champ just offered up a "Single Session" edit from his Haleiwa training ground, and it provides a good glimpse into where John's surfing was at this winter.
The video features him staying loose with brothers Nathan and Ivan, as well as longtime friend Kiron Jabour and all-around legendary badass Nathan Fletcher.
The footage was captured earlier this winter and shows John sans knee brace, surfing with that characteristic rhythm and flow. Feeling at home in the Haleiwa lineup, it's the perfect match for him as he continues to rehab his knee. Leaning into big carving sections, there appears to be no shortage of confidence in his rail game.
With his 2018 knee injury now nine months in the rear view mirror, and the Championship Tour on hold for the immediate future, he'll now have more time to dial in both his body and his boards while at home on the North Shore.
