Skateboard icon Tony Hawk made a special trip to California's Central Valley over the Memorial Day holiday. With businesses and some other things starting to open up around the Golden State as COVID-19 restrictions ease, the Surf Ranch in Lemoore was able to start making waves, and Hawk was on hand to sample the goods.
Growing up in north San Diego County, Hawk's surf vibes go all the way back to the beginning of his esteemed boardsports career. His older brother, Steve, served as the editor of Surfer Magazine in the early 2000s -- even taking a surf trip to Antarctica with famed lensman Art Brewer.
And this isn't the first time Tony's charged the Ranch. In one memorable session back in 2018, Tony and gold medal snowboarder Shaun White enjoyed trading barrels with one another.
Last month, Tony and Vans announced that they were joining forces. Undoubtedly they'll be pushing skateboarding to the next level together.
The skateboarding icon was spotted deep in the barrel on the lefthander in Lemoore over the weekend.
