Last year Jeremy Flores became the first French surfer to win the Quiksilver Pro, making history for his country. Few will forget that image of him flying out of the barrel at La Graviere in front of a legion of ecstatic fans.
Jeremy Flores' victory was one of the best moments of the 2019 Championship Tour - WSL / Damien Poullenot
This was obviously a huge moment for the Championship Tour veteran, so it's fitting that he was able to score the French beachie once again -- exactly one year to the day that he took out the event.
In this clip posted to his Insta, Flores says La Graviere is a bit of a lucky dip, and that you just have to go out there with low expectations in the hope of being pleasantly surprised. But it's pretty obvious he's got a special connection with the wave.
Flores, currently no.10 on the Championship Tour rankings, is the most successful European pro surfer of all time, and he has a chance to take his career even further after provisionally qualifying for the Tokyo Summer Olympic Games.
After 13 years on the CT, Flores has lost none of his spark and looks set to claim some more scalps when the Tour resumes soon.
