A playful point is possibly the best test-track imaginable for an eclectic quiver of boards, and Ventura local Sage Erickson got to do just that with three Channel Islands craft during a recent trip to Baja California.
Sage danced along to the rhythm of the waves with an added level of grace and ease, riding a CI Mid Length, OG Flyer and a Rocket Wide.
There really is something about riding different boards that makes you let go and have fun, and that's especially important for an elite-level athlete like Sage who would usually spend most of the year dialing in a stable of finely-honed performance shortboards.
"It is the funnest board in the world" said Sage when talking about her CI mid-length, and watching this clip, it looks like she could be right.
When the waves picked up, Sage took out her OG Flyer for a test ride. The board looked amazing under her feet in the head high waves of Desert Point. By the looks of it, Sage is looking confident for the start of the season in Maui at Honolua Bay December 4-15, 2020.
