The World Surf League Asia Pacific today announced that it will be extending its partnership with Oakberry Acai who have claimed naming rights for the upcoming Qualifying Series and Junior events on the Tweed Coast, the Oakberry Tweed Coast Pro.

After joining forces with the WSL across four major Championship Tour events earlier in 2021, Oakberry have re-invested, this time at the regional level, stating the success of the events in Newcastle, Narrabeen, Margaret River and Rottnest Island left them eager to continue their involvement in surfing, an area of huge passion for the brand.

We are thrilled to be part of the Oakberry Tweed Coast Pro," said Renan Fretes Pinto CEO Oakberry APAC. "After the very successful partnership between Oakberry and the WSL for the "Aussie Quaddie" earlier this year, we are excited to continue the partnership with this next event including naming rights. Oakberry is a perfect match with surfing culture and its community, and we are looking forward to continuing to share the Oakberry experience at this next event, supporting surfing at all levels."

The Oakberry Tweed Coast Pro will comprise of a QS5,000 rated event and a Pro Junior event and will attract some of the biggest emerging names in Australian and New Zealand surfing. WSL APAC General Manager Andrew Stark sees as much opportunity in the regional events as at the elite level and is thrilled that Oakberry do too.

"We are really excited to be continuing this fantastic relationship we have built with Oakberry at the upcoming event on the Tweed Coast," Stark said. "They have already shown great support to surfing through their involvement with the recent ‘Aussie Quaddie' leg of CT events and to see them double down and come on board at the junior and qualifying levels is a testament to their belief in what WSL is doing and their passion for competitive surfing. We thank them for their support and look forward to continuing the partnership into the future."

Not only will Oakberry be taking the naming rights of the event but they will be activating each day of competition, selling their Acai to competitors and fans. This is something that was a huge success for the brand at the recent Australian Championship Tour events. It will also continue to raise awareness for the brand which is currently opening stores in Coolangatta, Kingscliff and Byron Bay.

The 2021 Oakberry Tweed Coast Pro QS5,000 and Pro Junior Events are set to run on the Tweed Coast from June 19 - 25.
