Qualification Threats Emerge, Hawaiians Maintain Longboard HB Titles - 805 Post Show FINALS DAY

An epic conclusion to the US Open of Surfing provided heart-stopping, buzzer beaters and dominant displays from eventual winners Eli Hanneman and Sawyer Lindblad alongside Huntington Beach Longboard Classic victors Kaniela Stewart and Kelis Kaleopa'a. Eli Hanneman drops a near-perfect 9.00 backed by a an excellent 8.10 after San Clemente's Sawyer Lindblad fended off former CT and veteran Sally Fitzgibbons to claim one the biggest wins in her career thus far up the road from her home. It was a Queens, Waikiki sweep for Stewart and Kaleopa'a as the titles stay in Hawaii with Kaleopa'a successfully defending her title and Stewart completing his remarkable redemption run. Now, the WSL Longboard Tour prepares for the Bioglan Bells Beach Longboard Classic August 30 - September 2 as the Challenger Series resumes October 1 - 8 at the EDP Vissla Pro Ericeira.
