THANKYOU NEWCASTLE for a great @surfestnewcastle week. I don't even know where to begin, the Newcastle community for getting behind Surfest and making a 6000 WQS Event happen for us ladies. To the surfest team, Warren, the judges, officials, camera crew, supporting sponsors, @wsl , the list goes on. A big congratulations to @sally_fitz & @stephaniegilmore it was truly an honour to watch you two shred at my local. THANKS for all the love & support, you have all been amazing, the man above and Ryan an inspiration! I'm happy to walk away with a 9th place , bring on the #AustralianOpenOfSurf this week in Sydney! That was a heat I'll never forget!! Paddling for 12 mins to get back out, bailing a few bombs, my board hit my stomach and finally getting out the back to bringing up my breakfast And falling just short of the score in the last 2mins. I guess it's times like these when you have to just laugh it off and thank the Lord it was just a minor hit. Besides today, I've had a great few days with my support team. Having my granny over from South Africa watch me, is what made me not give up and paddle in!

She looks very serious in this photo, but I met Jade last week at the official Surfest launch. From across the room her smile lite up the place. She got diagnosed with Neuroblastoma a year ago (which is the most common type of cancer in infants and children, it forms on the brain or spinal chord.)She's a part of Charlie's Run 4 Kids (Face Book- Charlie's Run 4 Kids). I'm super happy, her family have been given VIP tickets to #surfest2016 and I'm hoping to win for her and donate some prize money for her treatment #inspired

What a great way to kick off 2016. Yesterday @surfestsurfschool donated 100 free lessons to the @juvenilediabetes Research Foundation. It was such an awesome day to see the kids enjoying themselves in the water

An average of 205hrs spent this year traveling with this view! No words can describe how thankful I am to everyone that helped get me through this year. I came close to achieving my dreams this year but 2016 it will all start again. Thank you GOD for this amazing life you have blessed me with.
