Zachary Brown was well on his way to dental school when he decided to apply for the 2017 Ambassador of Stoke & Leisure position. The former Delta airline employee will now be spending six weeks on the North Shore, meeting his favorite pro-surfers and documenting it all online. Having spent his formative years in Micronesia, Zach is no stranger to island life. Although currently living in land-locked Tennessee, he spends most of his free time working on film projects, snapping shots, editing and planning his next adventure.
The winner of the 2017 WSL Dream Job will be spending his winter on the North Shore, all expenses paid.
After searching for months and sorting through thousands of applicants, Zach was selected to join the WSL Tour crew this coming winter. He will soon be landing in Hawaii a few days ahead of the Maui Women's Pro, which gets underway on November 25. Creativity, meeting new people, collaborating and surfing are just a few of the things that get Zach fired up.
"Whether I get the position or not, I'm too obsessed with filmmaking, photography, travel, surf, and the world of adventure to ever give up the dream," he said in his application video. "That said, please hire me." Zach will be working out of the Hawaii office and attending the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing Nov. 25 - Dec. 6.
