South Africa's top juniors will be frothing to put on a vest for the BOS Cape Crown presented by Sea Harvest World Surf League (WSL) Junior Qualifying Series (JQS) 1,000 taking place at Long Beach in Kommetjie on Sunday, 15 September.

The fourth edition of the BOS Cape Crown presented by Sea Harvest and supported by the Western Cape Department of Culture and Sport, also features a 4A South African Surf Tour (SAST) event that kicks off on Friday, 13 September.

Over 80 surfers have entered the contest, which caters for U12 and U14 boys and girls, while the U16 and U18 boys and girls will compete in the JQS 1,000.

Kommetjie locals Luke Van Wyk and Ceara Knight will be the favourites to take out the event, but they will face some fierce competition from the likes of Daniel Emslie, Reilly Mare', Mitch Du Preez and Kayla Nogueira and Aimee Du Preez.

The JQS 1,000 and the SAST Division Finals will take place on Sunday, 15 September from 8AM.

The 2019 BOS Cape Crown is presented by Surfing South Africa and hosted by the Cape Town Surfriders. This is the first internationally rated surfing event to be held at Long Beach, Kommetjie in 10 years.

Surfing South Africa is the recognised governing body for the sport in South Africa and is a member of the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC). Surfing South Africa (SSA) is also a member of the African Surfing Confederation (ASF) and the International Surfing association (ISA).
