Jordy Smith is currently back in South Africa after wintering on the North Shore, but he sure picked one hell of a season to post up in Hawaii.
The Championship Tour journeyman described April as "the best month for waves I have surfed in a long time," and judging by his new edit from O'Neill, "Beyond The Tour: Hawaii" it's hard to argue otherwise.
When Hawaii went on lockdown due to the COVID-19 crisis, Jordy, who keeps a house on the beach at Ehukai, kept himself busy by surfing ... a lot. From Pipe, to Haleiwa, to the beachbreak in front of his house, a steady run of swell kept the waves firing for most of the month. And with a pause in tourism, sessions on the North Shore were a locals only affair, giving Jordy the space and freedom to really have fun with his surfing.
The big man has always thrived in powerful conditions, and few places in the world are as powerful at the North Shore. It's fun to see what he can do when he doesn't have the jersey on.
