Just ahead of the Volcom Pipe Pro, the pair pulled into a barrel, found cover and came out with the spit, together. The wave blew up the web and heated up Surfline's Wave of the Winter contest.

Yes, the Qualifying Series (QS) event was hot again this week thanks to a big finish. The Volcom Pipe Pro came down to a stacked Final featuring 11-time World Champion Kelly Slater (USA), local wunderkind John John Florence (HAW), Championship Tour veteran Sebastian Zietz (HAW) and QS-thriller Mason Ho (HAW). Consequently, the heavyweight showcase has had a long shelf-life.
