About Deivid Silva
Deivid Silva, like many talented Brazilians, wasted no time in chasing his dream of qualifying for the CT. He left his hometown of Guaruja, on Sao Paulo’s coast, aged just 17 and competed on the tour full-time. Over six years he came close on numerous occasions before eventually making the cut in 2018.
The goofyfooter had a mix of aerials and hyper-fast beach break turns that made him a threat at most of the events.
In his rookie CT year Tahiti and Pipe were always set to be a test, but with a set of consistent results and the odd flash of brilliance back on the QS, Silva secured his spot for 2020.
After the pandemic delay, Silva’s return in 2021 was underwhelming as he scored a slew of 17ths. However, in the final event in Mexico Silva unleashed that deadly backhand to finish runner-up, his best CT result, and secured qualification for 2022.
