Central Coast locals can once again look forward to a professional surfing event in their backyard with the Komunity Project Central Coast Pro pres. by Rockstar set to kick off at Avoca Beach from tomorrow.

The elite five-day competition - which will form the fourth and final of four stops on the Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series - will take place from 8th - 12th March, 2017.

Over-200 of Australia's and the world's most promising male and female surfers will compete in the event, which will see over 15 different countries represented across both divisions.

After seeing fellow Avoca local Adrian "Ace" Buchan take out the inaugural 2016 Central Coast Pro last year and recently finishing runner-up at event three on the Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series at Boomerang Beach, Wade Carmichael is excited at the prospect at going one spot further on home turf.

"I haven't surfed too many heats at home over the course of my career, so I'm really looking forward to this event kicking off," said Carmichael. "I saw Ace win last year and I would love to be able to keep the title in Avoca and make it back-to-back wins for the locals. The forecast looks awesome as well, so hopefully we'll see some amazing surfing over the next five days."
