Considering that surfing is one of the more popular reasons for global travel, it has been made more accessible via Airbnb experiences - activities led and designed by local experts. As a result we're celebrating the hosts that further the mission of belonging anywhere and everywhere.

The Hurley Surf Club Experience
Location: Huntington Beach, California
Hosted by: Brett Simpson
Brett Simpson, who competed on the WSL Championship Tour for six years, will surf with guests for one hour in Huntington Beach -- coaching on various techniques including wave selection, positioning and maneuver execution. "After surfing, we'll have a post-session coaching at Hurley Pac City," said Simpson. "This includes footage analysis and HSC technology like slow-mo breakdowns. You'll leave ready to take your surfing to the next level!"

Lisbon Surfing Experience
Location: Lisbon, Portugal
Hosted by: Nuno
Lisbon is home to some of the best waves in Portugal. Nuno is a local to the area and has been surfing for more than 25 years. "I will make sure you have the best experience," he said. "You´ll have a two-hour surfing lesson with a true local and certified instructor. The surfboard and the wetsuit are included. Lessons for all levels are available, from a first-timer to someone more experienced."

Factory Tour and Intro to Shaping
Location: Waialua, North Shore, Hawaii
Hosted by: Carl Schaper
Although having grown up on the East Coast, Carl Schaper now lives on the North Shore of Hawaii shaping for legendary surfers. "You will spend an hour at Schaper Hawaii's retail/manufacturing location to get a feel for how a board is made," said Schaper. "We'll talk shop in regards to surfing and I'll give you the basic information on how to get the right board for your ability level and wave type."

Surf with Purpose
Location: Muizenberg, Cape Town
Hosted by: Apish
This social impact experience is perfect for beginners looking to get their feet wet in Muizenberg. Apish, your host, is an accredited surf coach and lifeguard from from Masiphumelele township. "We'll meet at the Waves for Change office for a two hour surf lesson," said Apish. "Then we'll jump into the Waves for Change combi and head over to Masiphumelele township for lunch and learn more about the work we are doing here."

VIP Surf Guide with Rip Curl Team Rider
Location: Sanur, Bali
Hosted by: Ai Ni'mah
Ai Ni'mah helps run the Rip Curl Surf School in Bali, which has helped over 350,000 visitors. From there you will be connected with Rip Curl team riders Didi Gun, Garut Widiarta, or Diah Rahayu. They will take you around the area to find the best surf spots based on swell direction, tides and winds. "We'll pick you up at your location in the morning, assess the conditions for the day, and hop in the surf truck to score surf," said Ni'mah. "By the end of the day, you'll have a smile on your face from catching so many perfect waves."
