Luke Thompson and Ceara Knight won the The BOS Cape Crown pres by Sea Harvest World Surf League (WSL) Junior Qualifying Series (JQS) 1,000 at Long Beach in Kommetjie on Sunday, 15 September.
Thompson, the tall and slim Durbanite, edged out the local favourites Eli Beukes, Luke Slijpen and Mitch Du Preez in a close final to secure his second Pro Junior win of his career. With this win, he secures the number one position on the WSL Africa Junior rankings.
In the women's final, Kommetjie localCeara Knightused her experience at Long Beach for a critical performance, defeating Kayla Nogueira, Aimee Du Preez and Sarah Scott. This was also Knight's second Pro Junior career win.
