The World Surf League (WSL) is set to return to Maroubra Beach in Sydney this week for the Carve Pro men's and women's Qualifying Series (QS) 1,000 event. The elite four-day event has attracted an international field of over 120 competitors and will play as stop one of the three QS events in this years Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series.
Being the first QS event of the WSL APAC season, the Carve Pro is the perfect event for competitors to both improve their QS seed and warm-up for the season ahead as they look to qualify for the 2021 WSL Championship Tour (CT). Some names to keep an eye on this week at Maroubra include former CT competitors Stu Kennedy and Blake Thornton along with reigning Carve Pro women's winner Philippa Anderson.
The 2020 Carve Pro Maroubra QS1,000 will run from January 29 to February 1. Days two-to-four will be broadcast live at www.worldsurfleague.com and on the Free WSL App.
