The airshow continued on day three of the ASP Prime-rated Mr Price Pro Ballito. The prestigious South African competition saw some of the world's best talent take their surfing above the lip to earn impressive scores.

After the tide dropped, the final four heats of the Round of 48 were completed, followed by four heats of the non-elimination Round of 24. The combination of a lower tide and onshore breeze provided plenty of opportunity for surfers to show off their aerial antics at Willard Beach.

Brazil was once again a dominant force and this time it was Krystian Kymerson (BRA) who stole the show. His pair of full-rotation, backside airs earned him an advance into the Round of 16 with the highest heat total of the day, a 17.73 (out of a possible 20.00). The high score left his opponents Tim Reyes (USA) and Dillon Perillo (USA) in combination situations.

Inspired by the performances of his fellow competitors, Hawaiian Torrey Meister (HAW) showed why he is among the world's finest aerialists, opening with a 9.50 for a huge full-rotation air.

With the wind blowing directly into the rights, Meister followed up with an 8.17 air-reverse, forcing Matt Banting (AUS) and Frederico Morais (PRT) to hunt down two new scores to beat him.

"I've been watching Filipe (Toledo) a lot, he's really inspiring me with the way he does full-rotation airs on even the smallest of waves," Meister said. "Ballito is the perfect wave. It's either glassy and barreling or onshore with the best ramp sections and with the no-loser round, you have to go big and put on a show."

Filipe Toledo (BRA) continued his sensational form that saw him post the event's first and only Perfect 10-point ride in Round 2. Toledo unleashed his aerial arsenal to hold off his fellow countrymen Tomas Hermes and Heitor Alves with a pair of above-the-lip boosts for a 7.17 and a 8.17, respectively.

Toledo advanced into the Round of 16 ahead of Hermes and Alves, who will surf again in the Round of 24.

"It's hard to compete against Brazilians because the conditions are so similar to back home," said Toledo. "Although we're friends on land, that changes in the water."

Davey Cathels (AUS) was the fourth surfer to advance into the Round of 16, after taking down WCT No. 25 Tiago Pires (PRT) and former ASP World Junior Champion Caio Ibelli (BRA) who will surf again in the Round of 24.

Former two-time ASP World Junior Champion Jack Freestone (AUS) put on a show-stopper during his Round of 48 heat. He found multiple launch sections, to complete a pair of textbook 360-degree aerial rotations, scoring an 8.67 and an 8.43.

Freestone advanced alongside second-place finisher David Do Carmo (BRA), eliminating Ryan Callinan (AUS) and Gonzalo Zubizarreta (ESP) from the event.

Adrian Buchan (AUS) surfed with precision to place first ahead of Michael Dunphy (USA) in the Round of 48. Jeremy Flores (FRA) and Damien Hobgood (USA) both sealed spots in the Round of 24.
