Up-and-coming professional surfers from all over the world can look forward to four new World Surf League QS1,000 events, when the NSW Pro Surf Series kicks off on the NSW coastline in early 2016.
Thanks to a successful partnership between Surfing NSW, WSL, Destination NSW and NBN Television, four brand new men's and women's events are slated to take place at Maroubra Beach, Cabarita Beach, Avoca Beach and Boomerang Beach over the next three years.
Surfing NSW CEO Mark Windon said the NSW Pro Surf Series will give promising surfers the perfect platform to take their surfing to the next level, once they finish their time on the WSL Junior Qualifying Series (JQS).
"We anticipate the NSW Pro Surf Series will become the ideal stepping stone for surfers who aspire to compete in higher ranked events - but may not necessarily have a high enough seed to gain entry - as well as some of the world's best who want to fine-tune their act, prior to the WSL Championship Tour getting underway in March," said Windon.

The NSW Pro Surf Series was announced today at Avoca by Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch, alongside current WSL Championship Tour surfer Glenn ‘Micro' Hall as well as aspiring Avoca surfers Lennox Chell, Sandon Whittaker, Finn Hill and Kirra-Belle Olsson and recent Quiksilver Uluwatu Challenge champion Jared Hickel (Cronulla, NSW).
Mr. Crouch said: "The NSW Pro Surf Series is a fantastic initiative, and I can't wait to see some of the world's top surfers come to Avoca Beach in 2016 to compete. It will also provide a great boost to our local visitor economy, and show the world the beautiful beaches we have here on the Central Coast."

Mayor of Gosford City, Councillor Lawrie McKinna echoed similar sentiments.
"The Central Coast has always been a hot-bed of surfing talent with a number of local surfers representing the region on the WSL Championship Tour. We can't wait to see of them on their home turf when the event kicks off in February next year."
WSL Australasia Tour Manager Will Hayden-Smith believes this Series will give promising surfers the opportunity to shine against some of surfing's biggest heroes.
"WSL are thrilled to be working with Surfing NSW and Destination NSW on this exciting new Series. NSW is home to some of the best surf and surfers in the world and we're excited about the prospect of young aspiring professional surfers getting the chance to surf against Championship Tour surfers and local legends in these events," said Hayden-Smith.
