Bali is a place of discovery. While just a short flight from Australia, it was somewhat off the beaten path for most surfers until recently. But once people started flocking to the island, they found its rich culture, friendly people, and multitude of world-class waves make it a mandatory stop on every surfer's list.
Next week we bring you two historic events from Bali, the 2008 Rip Curl Pro Search Bali and the 2018 Corona Bali Protected.

Italo Ferreira won the event after beating Michel Bourez in the Final. On the women's side, Lakey Peterson took down Tyler Wright, eventually finishing runner-up this year.
