John John Florence and Ivan Florence bagged what brother Nathan is calling the best waves of the swell, and an all-star cast of lucky locals -- still able to surf at home during the ongoing COVID pandemic -- made the most of what could be one of the last go-arounds at Pipe until the end of the year.
While Nathan may have had a frustrating session, as he explains in the clip, John John really stole the show: "John, who missed two winters, is out at Pipe and the ocean was just like, here, no wave will go out to sea on you, no wind will blow them down ... every wave he went on was just magic. He just had the full-on flow going.
"He got, literally, eighteen insane waves."
There's nothing like a bit of sibling rivalry to spice things up, especially when the brothers in question surf as good as the Florences.
